General & Overview

▸ Is Alma Libre anti-political or anti- establishment?

No, we’re not anti-political—but we’re not playing the same game either.

At Alma Libre, we believe that most wars are started by the rich to get richer, or by the power-hungry to gain control. We don’t align with violence, exploitation, or taking what belongs to others. That includes physical territory, dignity, or freedom.

We’re building a sanctuary precisely because the world is unstable. War, division, and systemic collapse are among the reasons we’ve chosen to create a refuge—a place where peace, sovereignty, and community come first.

We welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities—so long as they share the core values of nonviolence, mutual respect, and co-creation. We will protect our own if we have to. But we believe the most radical form of resistance is building something beautiful and independent from control—together.

▸What is The Alma Libre Sanctuary Project?

Alma Libre is a private, off-grid sanctuary located in Costa Rica, designed to offer safety, sovereignty, and soulful connection in a world that’s rapidly changing. It’s part luxury retreat center, part regenerative farm, and part decentralized, income-generating community. We are not a resort. We are not a commune. We are a radical new model for living, loving, and thriving together—as chosen family.

👉 Learn more about our mission

▸ Is this for everyone, or a specific type of person?

Alma Libre is built for visionaries, rebels, misfits, and lovers—people who are done waiting for the world to fix itself and ready to build something beautiful together.

We welcome those seeking safety, connection, pleasure, and purpose. We’re especially supportive of LGBTQ+, poly, sex-positive, and wellness-focused folks, but you don’t need to fit any label to belong. If the words freedom, sovereignty, shared wealth, and off-grid sanctuary stir something in you—this is probably for you.

▸ Where is The Alma Libre Sanctuary - Costa Rica - located?

We’re currently finalizing our land selection in Costa Rica and have three extraordinary locations under review. One of those—Puriscal Canton—is already secured as a strong candidate, and we’re actively testing spring water, reviewing permits, and confirming environmental and infrastructure readiness across all three sites.

  • All potential locations share key traits:

  • Close to a major city and airport

  • Within reach of beaches, waterfalls, and adventures

  • Remote enough to ensure privacy and full off-grid capability

  • Zoned and suited for regenerative development

The final site will be confirmed in the coming months, and all Founders and backers will be notified as soon as we lock it in.

▸ What does “off-grid” really mean?

We generate our own hydroelectric power, collect gravity-fed spring and rainwater, grow our own food using permaculture and aquaponics, and manage waste using bioreactors and composting systems. .

We’re designed to operate independently if (or when) outside systems collapse. You’ll still have Wi-Fi, lights, clean water, hot showers, and world-class food—but you’ll never need a power company or grocery store to enjoy them.

▸ Is Alma Libre a spiritual or religious retreat center?

Nope. There’s no doctrine, no dogma, and no one telling you how to believe.

Some of us are spiritual, some of us are secular, all of us are curious and open. We host rituals, sound healings, meditations, and nature-based ceremonies—but always through the lens of consent, invitation, and personal freedom. You choose your path. We also offer science backed therapies and sessions with licensed Therapists.

▸ Is this place safe?

Absolutely. We are intentionally located in one of Costa Rica’s most peaceful, protected, and nature-rich regions. The Founder & Chairman is Canadian and he often says, this feels safer than back home.

Our sanctuary is private, gated, and surrounded by smallholder farms, forests, and fresh water. We’ve also built full emergency access systems: clean water, power, food, housing, and medical access are all in place.

Mission & Values

▸ What is the mission behind Alma Libre?

Our mission is simple but ambitious: To create a blueprint for regenerative sanctuaries—off-grid, self-sustaining, sensual, and secure—that can be replicated and shared across the world.

We’re building a template for how to live free:

  • Free from fragile systems

  • Free from isolation

  • Free from burnout, overwork, and trying to do everything alone

In most of modern life, two people are expected to do it all: buy a house, own two cars, earn enough for groceries, plan investments, raise kids, and somehow retire safely.

We believe in a better way: shared wealth, shared work, and shared living.

▸ What do you mean by “a new way to do family?

To us, family is chosen—not inherited.

It’s not about legal contracts, shared blood, or traditional roles. It’s about people who show up for each other with commitment, intention, and shared values.

When we say a new way to do family, we’re talking about something far more powerful:

  • A family that builds wealth together—not just emotional support, but financial security

  • A family that shares purpose, land, labor, and legacy

  • A family that creates a safe place to run to when the world burns—literally or figuratively

  • A family that doesn’t need every person to own two cars, buy a house, plan retirement, and stockpile savings alone In a collapsing, increasingly digitized world,

Alma Libre offers a living alternative: A sovereign village where we grow together, protect each other, and profit collectively—with space for love, pleasure, resilience, and deep human connection. This is the blueprint for family that our generation never got... and maybe it's a model for sustainable living that can be replicated.

    👉 Join the Movement

    👉 Become a Founder

▸ Is Alma Libre “woke” or part of Pride culture?

Alma Libre is not about labels, performance, or politics—we’re about real humans, real healing, and radical inclusion rooted in mutual respect.

We proudly welcome:

  • LGBTQIA+ people

  • Poly, kink, queer, and fluid communities

  • All races, bodies, identities, and belief systems

  • Anyone committed to integrity, growth, and contribution

But we also hold a clear boundary:

  • This is not a space to weaponize identity or seek special status based on labels.

  • We do not profit from or tokenize any group.

  • We do not believe in social hierarchy based on race, gender, trauma, or orientation.

  • Everyone is equal here.

  • Everyone contributes.

  • Everyone is held to the same community agreements.

You are welcome here because of who you are—not what box you check. Bring your full self. But check your ego at the door.

▸ Is Alma Libre anti-tech or anti-modern society?

Not at all. We love technology when it's balanced with living life without a massive negative imprint on our world.

We use solar, hydro systems, decentralized finance tools, media creation, automation, and more. We even have Alma Celeste, our AI Assistant to help us stay connected and coordinated. Our sanctuary will have a co-work space and cafe for all of us Digital Nomads or folks who have to stay connected with business or work at home while they stay. Although, we likely won't be able to give site wide WIFI... but disconnecting and enjoying each other and our natural environment is the point isn't it?

What we are is pro-preparedness, pro-choice, and pro-community. We’re not here to escape the modern world—we’re here to build a refuge within it. A sovereign place that works whether systems or governments succeed or fail. We use what works, discard what doesn’t, and build with clear eyes.

We embrace the notion that Human Experiences will become a premium, as they should. Making Alma Libre a very desirable and lucrative venture for all founders.

▸ Are you advertising this publicly? What about privacy and discretion?

No—we’re not marketing Alma Libre to the masses.

This is an invite-only project, shared privately through:

  • Word of mouth

  • Direct referrals

  • Community events

  • Hand-to-hand trust

If you know someone you’d want to share sanctuary with, you’re welcome to invite them. Otherwise, we don’t promote, advertise, or position ourselves as an “alternative community.”

We operate quietly, respectfully, and with deep alignment to local culture—which in Costa Rica often means honoring Catholic traditions, family values, and privacy. This space is for those who know. And those who are ready when invited.

▸ What is the onboarding process for Founders, Work/Stay residents, or Practitioners?

Not everyone belongs at Alma Libre—and that’s by design.

This is a deeply curated space, and every Founder, Work/Stay participant, or Practitioner must go through a one-on-one onboarding process with our Founder & Chairman personally to ensure alignment with our values, vision, and community culture. It’s not about status, income, or surface-level intention.

It’s about:

  • Emotional maturity

  • Cultural and energetic fit

  • Respect for boundaries, contribution, and collaboration

    What to expect:

  • A personal interview with the Founder & Chairman, in person or via zoom call.

  • A review of your application or petition

  • An honest dialogue about expectations—yours and ours

    • If it’s a yes, we’ll welcome you in.

  • If it’s a no, it’s with love and clarity.

What happens to my deposit if I’m not accepted?

Even if you select a non-refundable package through our campaign: If your petition is rejected during the onboarding process, your deposit will be fully refunded This applies to both Founders and Work/Stay applicants

We are not here to take your money and then say “no.” We are here to protect the sanctuary, the people in it, and the integrity of the future we’re building. If you’re meant to be here, you’ll know. And if we’re meant to welcome you, we’ll feel it too.

▸ Why focus so much on experiences and human connection?

Because in a digital-first world, human-to-human presence is becoming rare—and deeply valuable. Just like organic food is now more expensive than toxic food, real, embodied, emotional, touch-based experience is becoming the new luxury.

We're creating a space where that is normal, not reserved. Alma Libre exists to make sure that deep, real, physical, felt life doesn’t get lost in the noise. We want to preserve what it means to be human, real and present.

▸ What community agreements am I expected to follow?

Everyone at Alma Libre agrees to uphold a shared code of conduct centered around:

  • Consent in all interactions

  • Clear communication and boundary honoring

  • Contribution—to the space, the land, or the community

  • No harassment, violence, or coercion of any kind

  • Respect for the land, animals, and fellow humans

Violation of these agreements may result in immediate removal without refund, even for Founders. Freedom only works when it's held in respect.

▸ What are your core values—and how do they shape the culture at Alma Libre?

At Alma Libre, our values aren’t theoretical—they’re the living foundation of everything we build, offer, and embody.

These five core values define our mission, our culture, and how we treat each other:

  • Sanctuary

A safe haven where like-minded souls gather to experience life, love, and authentic connection. This is the heart of Alma Libre. We’re not just a business—we’re a refuge. A place to land when the world gets too loud, too disconnected, or too unsafe to thrive in.

  • Sovereignty

Sustainable off-grid power, water, and food systems. Zero reliance on unreliable systems. We don’t just talk about independence—we build it into the land. Our commitment to sovereignty means every person here has access to clean water, renewable energy, food, and freedom. It also means protecting our chosen family from political, economic, or digital instability.

  • Creation

Artisans, regenerative farmers, and creators unite to cultivate beauty and harmonious living. Alma Libre is alive with music, gardens, movement, ritual, and craft. Everyone here contributes creatively—whether it’s through farming, cooking, hosting, or building. Creation is how we heal and how we grow.

  • Connection

A vibrant celebration through playful gatherings, fiestas, and feasts—fostering joy and authentic bonds. Connection is the heartbeat of everything. We build relationships rooted in trust, consent, and presence. From fire circles to cacao ceremonies, we celebrate our shared humanness—with laughter, tears, and touch.

  • Family

A global collective living united by contribution, sustainable living, and joyful co-operation. Family here is chosen. We don’t believe you should build a life alone—buying two cars, planning retirement, stockpiling groceries, and fighting for security solo. At Alma Libre, we contribute, we share, and we rise together.

These five pillars aren’t marketing. They are our blueprint. They guide how we live, how we relate, how we grow wealth, and how we create safety—in a world that desperately needs it.

▸ What is the Practitioners Village and what does it mean to be a Practitioner in Residence?

The Practitioners Village is a core part of Alma Libre’s cultural ecosystem.

It’s a curated team of healers, artists, teachers, facilitators, and space-holders who live on-site and offer their skills to the entire community of founders, guests, work/stay and fellow practitioners... in exchange for full room and board. These roles are offered on a month-to-month basis to aligned individuals who contribute meaningfully to the emotional, spiritual, and educational experience of the sanctuary.

As a Practitioner in Residence, you might offer:

  • Classes, workshops, and skill shares

  • Movement, music, art, and creative immersion

  • Nervous system support, trauma-informed facilitation

  • Group rituals, healing ceremonies, or private sessions

  • Integration, reflection, and emotional care

    Practitioners also receive:

  • Free luxury lodging and meals during their residency

  • A Certificate of Service documenting your contribution

  • Access to science-backed wellness training at our on-site Wellness Center

  • Opportunities to learn new trades, practice your modality, and collaborate with others in your field

    Crisis Refuge Priority for Practitioners

The most trusted and high-contributing practitioners—those who have served the community with integrity and impact—will be granted priority emergency invitations under the same terms as Founder residency.

If borders close, governments overreach, or global supply chains collapse, you will have a place to land. This isn’t just a place to teach—it’s a place to belong, be protected, and grow roots with us. (Crisis refuge priority is earned. Even if you are off site, chosen practitioners will be invited back)

👉 Apply to be a Practitioner: Email [email protected] with an introduction and describe your modality

▸ Do I need travel insurance or health coverage?

Yes. Absolutely. 100% of the time you are traveling whether you are on site or not.

We strongly recommend that all guests, residents, and Work/Stay participants carry travel insurance that includes:

  • Emergency medical treatment

  • Evacuation and transport

  • Trip cancellation and delay coverage

Alma Libre is located in a remote area, and while we have protocols in place, we are not a medical facility. Your safety is our priority—and being prepared is part of that.

▸ Is this an Adults Only Sanctuary? Can I bring my fur baby?

Yes—Alma Libre is strictly an adults-only sanctuary. 20+ years of age and older.

Our retreats, living spaces, and community rituals are intentionally designed for mature, sovereign, and sensual experiences—including emotional healing, play, connection labs, and other offerings that are not appropriate for children or family environments. This boundary is not about exclusion—it’s about creating safe, immersive space for personal transformation, uninhibited expression, and the depth of adult community living.

We ask all guests, residents, and founders to honor this boundary to preserve the container we’re building together.

We are VERY pet friendly on one condition. They should not be disruptive or destructive. If they disturb the enjoyment of guests and residents. You will be asked to house them via local pet hotels. Keep in mind, this is a living farm bordered by wild jungle... and wild animals.

▸ What are the accommodations like?

In Phase 1 - The Basecamp Build stage. Guests stay in luxury 2-bedroom glamping tents, each with a queen bed, indoor/outdoor bathroom, and access to a shared outdoor kitchen, BBQ area, firepit, and natural pool. It’s rugged-luxury: think hot showers, jungle vibes, clean linens, and enough wildness to keep it real.

In Phase 2 - We start building & offering members a stay in a hand built, earth rammed 1 bedroom cabin. They will include an indoor/outdoor bathroom, king size bed, a king size murphy bed for guests, a patio with outdoor lounge and hammock.

▸ What types of retreats do you offer?

We offer three types of immersive, week-long experiences sold via Membership Packages:

  • Standard Weeks: Grounded in connection, healing, and nature-based living

  • Premium Weeks: Feature guest teachers, advanced workshops, or special themes

  • Holiday/Event Weeks: Curated experiences for key dates like New Year’s, Carnival, Valentine’s, Halloween, and more

All weeks are designed around community, consent, play, and restoration.

▸ What does “spicy” mean at Alma Libre?

At Alma Libre, spicy means playful, embodied, erotic, and fully consent-based connection. It’s not about performance or pressure—it’s about giving adults a safe, curated space to explore pleasure, sensuality, and relational depth.

That might look like:

  • Cuddle parties or touch-based workshops

  • Clothing-optional hot tub nights

  • Intimacy games, energy play, or sensual movement

  • Wild dance parties or after-dark rituals

  • And so very much more

Nudity, sensual, sexual experiences are always conducted in private and well marked areas. There’s no expectation to participate in anything spicy—but if you do, it’s an invitation to explore with curiosity, not obligation.

▸ What if I’m not into the spicy stuff? What else can I do?

Totally fine—and honestly, quite common.

Alma Libre is not all sex, spice, and tantra. Many guests come purely for the nature, rest, healing, connection, and creative community.

If you're not into the sensual experiences, you'll still enjoy:

  • Guided breathwork and meditation

  • Organic farming, composting, and land connection

  • Cacao ceremonies and fire circles

  • Community cooking, feasting, and dance nights

  • Skill shares, creative workshops, and permaculture tours

  • Morning movement, yoga, and forest bathing

  • Deep conversations with other beautiful humans

We are a working/living farm and off grid sanctuary. We welcome participating from all guests and owners in any area that's interesting to you. Contribution is our currency here and god knows, there is a lot of work to do. Get your hands dirty, pitch in, teach and learn.

You don’t have to be spicy to belong here. Just curious, kind, and open to community.

▸ Will I be expected to be naked or participate in sex?

No. Never. Not even close.

While Alma Libre offers optional sensual and erotic events—think cuddle spaces, guided intimacy workshops, tantra massage classes or playful touch labs—everything is opt-in, consent-based, and led by trained facilitators in private spaces.

What we promise:

  • No nudity or sex is ever expected or required

  • You always choose your level of participation in any activity

  • All sensual or sexual experiences are held in clearly marked designated spaces

  • We have a zero tolerance policy for consent violations, pressure, or disrespect

  • Anyone who breaks these boundaries will be immediately removed from the sanctuary without refund.

We protect this space with love and with firmness. Everyone deserves to feel safe.

▸ Can I come with my partner or friends?

Yes—absolutely.

We welcome partners, chosen family, and friend groups. ALL of our membership packages include guest passes.

Guests must be: Age 20 or older Aligned with our community agreements, which include consent culture, non-judgment, contribution, and respect

We’re not a resort—you’re bringing your people into a sacred container. Please choose guests who are ready to show up with intention.

▸ Who are your events for—and who are they not for?

Our community is for:

  • People who value consent, sovereignty, and play

  • Creatives, coaches, healers, rebels, lovers, and misfits

  • The LGBTQ+, poly, kink-curious, and queer communities

  • Tantra, conscious connection lovers, co-creators

  • Anyone who wants to feel more alive, expressed, and connected

  • First-timers, wallflowers, and slow-openers—you’re welcome too

  • The curious, the inexperienced and those who want to learn or explore themselves

    Our events are NOT for:

  • Anyone looking to get drunk or high and grope people

  • Voyeurs or predators trying to “watch” without contributing

  • People who don’t respect clear boundaries or no’s

  • Those unwilling to communicate, integrate, or engage with presence

We protect the vibe fiercely. This is a curated container—not a free-for-all. Violators will be ejected immediately without refunds. This is a private club and community. We are never obligated to allow anyone to stay and poison our ethos.

▸ What are your rules around consent, safety, and sexual health?

Consent is not just a value at Alma Libre—it’s the foundation of everything we do. We’ve created an environment where people can explore connection, intimacy, and sensuality in a fully informed, fully protected, and completely opt-in way.

Consent Protocols

  • All events are clearly marked as spicy or vanilla

  • Participation is always optional—no pressure, ever

  • We use verbal and non-verbal check-ins “No” means no—without negotiation or explanation

  • Wristband codes are available to signal consent preferences (open to touch, observer only, spicy-ready, etc.)

    Sexual Health & Safety

  • We offer free condoms and safer sex supplies in all play areas

  • On-site blood testing is available

  • Participants are required to disclose any known conditions or concerns that could affect others

Anyone found misrepresenting or violating consent, safety, or disclosure rules will be immediately removed with no refund This is a curated, protected space. You deserve to feel safe in your no, confident in your yes, and respected in your body.

👉 See What Life Looks Like on a work/stay for 30 days

▸ What happens if I get sick or injured while I’m there?

We have basic first aid on-site in our medical center and we’re about 90 minutes from a hospital in San José. The sanctuary will have a helipad for emergencies. For minor issues, we’ll support you directly. For anything serious, we’ll assist with transport and logistics. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. We are not a medical facility.

The Living Farm

▸ What is the Living Farm?

The Living Farm is Alma Libre’s food and land stewardship hub. It’s where we build with the earth, not on top of it. Natural and sustainable.

Through regenerative agriculture, aquaponics, composting, and small-scale animal systems, the Living Farm will support off-grid sovereignty, daily nourishment, and real human connection to food. It’s not just about growing vegetables—it’s about co-creating a functional, resilient ecosystem where guests and residents can learn, contribute, and eat with intention.

▸ How much food will you grow?

Our system is designed to produce 100% of the food needed to feed up to 200 people on-site, including guests, Work/Stay participants, and resident council. Our natural capacity sits around 150 people, but we are over engineering... just in case.

This includes:

  • Regenerative garden beds

  • Aquaponics systems

  • Food forests

  • Fruit Orchards

  • Eggs, fish, and rotational livestock

  • Artisanal cheeses, smoked meats and sausage

  • Home made cider & banana beer

Any food grown beyond what the community needs will be shared with single mothers and food-insecure families in the surrounding towns.

▸ Are meals included with my stay?

Not yet—but we’re getting there.

During the build and early guest phases:

  • Meals are offered at cost (ingredients + kitchen labor)

  • Work/Stay participants receive meals as part of their program

  • Guests may purchase meal packages or cook their own food in communal kitchens

We’re building toward an all-inclusive kitchen model supported entirely by the farm. Until then, expect nutritious, local, seasonal food—priced transparently with zero profit margin.

▸ Can I help grow food or get involved with the farm?

During Phase 1 (Basecamp Build), Alma Libre offers hands-on, practical workshops focused on farming, land systems, and regenerative building. These aren’t abstract teachings—they’re real, gritty, and taught in the exact environment we’re building by specialists brought in to help build the sanctuary.

During the Basecamp Build (phase 1), we offer a series of one-week immersive workshops where participants help install real systems on-site while learning hands-on skills. These include full room and board in our luxury glamping tents. Tents are 2 bedroom with queen sized beds so workshop attendees will share a tent.

▸ Do you accept farm volunteers?

No. We don’t accept unpaid, short-term volunteers.

Everyone on land either pays to stay, contributes through Work/Stay, or trades their professional craft as part of the Practitioners Village. This boundary protects the energy of the space and ensures everyone is both contributing and invested.

▸ Will there be animals on the farm?

Yes. Our system includes:

  • Chickens for eggs and compost

  • Tilapia or freshwater fish for aquaponics

  • Horses for riding, transportation, and emotional connection

  • Pigs (bacon is a food group)

  • Sheep & cattle for milk/meat

  • Rabbits for meat production & fur

  • Rescue Animals - for comfort & connection

We will create wildlife corridors and attract local birds. All farm/food animals are integrated ethically, with a focus on stewardship, not exploitation. They’re part of the family, the ecology, and the experience.

▸ Can I share my homesteading or food preservation knowledge?

Yes, please. We love learning from those who’ve done the hard work.

If you know how to:

  • Build root cellars

  • Ferment or preserve

  • Harvest by moon phase

  • Keep seed libraries

  • Design water capture systems …then we want your wisdom in the mix.

  • Use natural pesticides

We’re actively creating long-term food storage systems, fermentation zones, and a living skills network that keeps knowledge alive.

▸ How does Alma Libre handle security and protection?

Security at Alma Libre is about more than gates and cameras—it’s about protecting sovereignty, privacy, and trust.

We are actively building a multi-layered security system that includes:

  • A gated entrance

  • Private, unmarked road access

  • On-site cameras in public zones

  • Camera traps for capturing ALL the different wildlife, and potential trespassers

  • Local collaboration with off-duty police and response teams

  • Emergency protocols for natural disasters or external threats

  • Encrypted guest communication and booking processes

We will also designate a Site Security Officer—a key leadership role responsible for:

  • Managing physical and digital security systems

  • Overseeing training, access protocols, and safety drills

  • Ensuring that the sanctuary remains discreet, protected, and sovereign

  • Respecting local customs while defending internal boundaries

Security isn’t an afterthought—it’s part of what makes this a real sanctuary. If the world is on fire, we will need to make sure that we keep safe and secure what we have built together as a family.

▸ What is the Directors Council, and what do Directors receive?

The Directors Council is the core leadership circle of Alma Libre.

These are first and foremost Founders & Investors. In addition to all the benefits that being a founder includes, they are also on-site, full-time residents who steward every department of sanctuary life. They manage operations, guide culture, and help uphold our vision—while co-governing the project as equals. This is not symbolic leadership. Directors run real systems, live in community, and work hand-in-hand with the Founder and each other.

▸ What is the Legacy Trust?

The Legacy Trust is a member-funded, community-managed capital pool.

It receives 5% of all net profits from the sanctuary and uses them to:

  • Purchase life insurance policies on members

  • Reinvest death benefits into future sanctuaries

  • Fund emergency travel or relocation for Founders

  • Provide support for community members on a case by case basis

  • Managed by the Directors Council

The Trust is projected to reach $14.5M in 10 years and eventually distribute dividends to Founders once it’s capitalized.

▸ What happens in an emergency or global collapse?

This is one of the core reasons Alma Libre exists.

As a Founder, you hold a guaranteed right to refuge at the sanctuary in the event of:

  • War or civil unrest

  • Financial collapse or bank lockdowns

  • Border closures or forced displacement

  • Natural disasters, climate events, or pandemics

  • Any global instability that threatens your safety or access to basic needs

When systems fail, you don’t have to scramble. Your cottage is immediately reserved, and you’ll have access to:

  • Private housing Clean spring-fed water

  • Power (via hydro, solar, wind, and backup)

  • Fresh food grown on-site

  • Community, structure, and daily support

  • Legacy Trust Support to supplement financial access to the Sanctuary if available and necessary

This isn’t theoretical—it’s written into the operating structure. You don’t own a specific cottage, but you own the right to immediate, exclusive access to one during any crisis. And because Alma Libre is designed to run without dependency on public utilities, grocery chains, or grid-based infrastructure, you can count on it to function even when the outside world doesn't.

This is your Plan B, Plan A, and lifeboat—all in one.

👉 Secure your independence & safety. Become a Founder

▸ How is profit share calculated?

50% of all net profits from the entire sanctuary are distributed evenly to the 50 Founder Shares and Directors.

This means you earn from:

  • Guest stays

  • Workshop & retreat revenue

  • Membership packages

  • Work/Stay programs

  • Premium event weeks

Note: Ownership is on a per sanctuary basis. In this case you are buying a share in Alma Libre - Costa Rica. Current shareholders receive first rights of refusal for investment into future locations with the same terms. Black membership includes a 20% discount in any Sanctuary that you are not a shareholder in.

▸ Can I resell or transfer my share?

Yes. Shares are transferable, with a right of first refusal in place to maintain community alignment. You may also gift or pass down your share as part of an estate plan. Residents & Visitors must always fit the Alma Libre ethos. Share purchases must be approved by the Directors Council to maintain our culture. No matter who owns your shares, they may not visit or live on site if they don't fit our chosen family.

▸ Do I get residency in Costa Rica with this?

Founder Shareholders may qualify for Costa Rica’s Inversionista Visa. All shareholders must apply and go through the residency process legally. Alma Libre in no way guarantees or controls that process. A $300,000+ investment does meet one of the qualifications you need for residency.

  • Residency status renewable every 2 years

  • A path to permanent residency and citizenship

  • Benefits for spouses and dependents

  • Access to Costa Rican health and legal systems

  • Legal Address in Costa Rica at Alma Libre

▸ What’s the expected ROI for a Founder Share?

Alma Libre is designed to deliver 100% ROI in under 5 years, with ongoing cashflow distributions for life.

This is not a timeshare or a resale play—it’s a profit-generating ownership model, built on high-margin, diversified revenue and ultra-low operational costs.

These figures are based on diversified income from rentals, workshops, apprenticeships, memberships, and premium experiences—spread across all 50 Founder & Director Shares.

Why the ROI Works

High-margin operations: With food, energy, and water produced in-house, our cost-to-revenue ratio is lean—90%+ projected EBITDA. .

No paid staff model: Our Work/Stay residents and apprentices pay to be here, reducing labor expenses to nearly zero.

Multi-stream income: Rentals, memberships, events, programs, product sales, and future sanctuaries all generate profit.

Built for resilience: Whether tourism dips or inflation spikes, Alma Libre functions without reliance on fragile supply chains

100% Residency: Even if all 50 cottages are housing our founders full time, we are still in profit model with profit share.

  • In the full occupancy scenario, each Founder: Pays: $135,200/year  ($20K Black Membership + 20% off for the remaining 40 weeks)

  • Receives back: $60,840/year in profit share  (based on 90% margin and 50% of profits redistributed)

Profit Distribution Mechanics

50% of all net profits are distributed annually to Founders

All profits—not just rental revenue—are pooled before distribution

5% of Pre Distribution Funds is allocated to the Legacy Trust

Founders do not have to be on-site to receive income

Distributions begin after Year 1 (build phase), starting in Year 2 paid monthly. This means that if there are only a handful of founders, they receive all profit share distributed between them. It pays to get in early.

It’s like owning part of a luxury resort, training facility, event venue, farm, retreat space, and resilience hub—all at once.
